Strider Hiryu from the Strider series for :iconrog1234:

This be a birthday present for Roger, cause today happens to be his birthday >3
And well, seeing his growing obsession over this futuristic, high-tech ninja, the choice for the gift was pretty obvious XD
Well, can't exactly blame him. After all, Hiryu is one of Capcom's most iconic characters and for a pretty damn good reason. Even with all the high tech, future stuff around him, he maintains that special ninja'ish badassness. Even Raiden (from MGR), as awesome as he is, doesn't quite have it (at least IMO).

But the funniest thing is, it wasn't always like that... well, not the aweosmeness, he had that from the start, but he wasn't always as known and loved as today. He did have his fanbase, but when he was announced as a MVC1 newcomer... well, lets just say the usual happened...
"Fans" kept coming left and right to voice how much they're displeased about his inclusion... and by that I mean a horde of permanently butthurt monkey calling themselves a fanbase started throwing shit everywhere like they always do when Capcom decides to introduce someone less-known XD (and yes, there was a time when Strider was less-known, for those with a conveniently lacking memory span...). Yeah, it's surprising how much hate he got, being called from "no-name generic ninja" or "cheap Guy clone" to "them fucken' Japs think they can add a random ninja and think it's all cool, but they're just dickheads who show off" XD

However, as we all know that stopped as soon as the game came out, teh universe took a huuuuge turn and bang, Strider becomes everyones favourite "no-name generic ninja" XD
Heh, funny how it's the exact same each and every time, be it crossover choices (anyone remember the shitstorm about Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, when the net was flooded by "why is it this crappy company and not <insert your fav company here>"), or newcomer choices, or even the more radical ones like replacing SF2's cast with the new SF3 cast (believe it or not, each and every SF3 newcomer got more hate than SFxT's DLC, and I am NOT kidding).

Also, a fun fact. Just how many of you know that Strider, one of Capcom's biggest icons, isn't even wholly a Capcom character?
He does in fact, originate from a manga named "Strider Hiryu" made in 1989 by a manga collective known as Moto Kikaku, and starred in his very first 2 titles the very same year, one for the arcades and one for the NES, both made by Capcom, both completely different titles, but both named "Strider" (and of course, both starring Hiryu), next came the somewhat obscure sequel Strider II (made by another studio under Capcom's license), and later Strider 2, which was made after Strider's sudden popularity wave after MVC1. Plus, of course, the newest installment, called yet again, just "Strider"... kinda funny how there are 5 games in the series and they are all named oddly similar XD

Really loving your action poses! With that low profile, he looks like he's winding up for something fierce! Or maybe he made a sudden reversal for a counterattack? The awesome movement of that flowy scarf suggest the latter IMHO. But whatever. This is just very nice! :)
