Bashmaster The Unbreakable from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze


Wow, this is the first piece in a while that is not drawn for someone or for a project, this is actually one of those random fanarts I really wanted to draw at some point.
Anyways, while not many remember the good ol' days of DKC prime, it was actually a really awesome platforming series, followed by some minigame spinoffs and that conga game that made you wish you were playing Taiko no Tatsujin. That is, until Retro Studios decided to bring the DKC platformers back, and damn, did they deliver.
Sadly, the games proved to be too difficult for your standard Nintendo fans, and not enough "herp-derp-internetz" for fans of insanely hard platformers (I'm looking at you "I Wanna Be The..." series), so they never got the appreciation . But still, both games are really worth a try, especially Tropical Freeze.

DKC Tropical Freeze not only had a more unique concept than other DKC games, but it also had THE most awesome boss fights (yes, the K.Rool battle in DKC1 was amazing, but that's the only one that can measure up here). And the penultimate boss, Bashmaster here, was the one I found the most awesome and most fun to battle, plus, he had the most awesome boss track of them all too . His design may be pretty simple, I mean, he's an anthro polar bear with a spiked mallet, but it was still very effective, hence why I really wanted to take a shot at him. And damn, he would make a really awesome SSB chara.
