Doropie from Magical Doropie (or Francesca from The Krion Conquest for you US folks)

Part 5/24 of my NES Hidden Gems project.

Heh, about damn time I uploaded anything, literally anything...
So yeah, continuing with my NES project, this time the title is Magical Doropie, known in USA as "The Krion Conquest".
I know what you're thinking, no, this is not a fanmade bootleg Megaman knockoff. Though yes, it was more than just inspired by the Blue Bomber games, with some very obvious Ninja Gaiden'ish cutscenes (though all removed from the US version for some reason), it was actually a legit NES game.

But first things, the game is about the titular Doropie (Francesca in teh US version), a witch summoned to our world by a boy named Kagemaru to save us from an invasion of the evil, robotic Akudama Empire (Krion Empire in the US version). That is basically all, and yeah, I know how cheesy it is, but this sort of story was pretty standard back then XD

Moving on, while the overall design and gameplay do scream "MEGAMAN!", the game has enough aspects to make it original in it's own way. For example, in MegaMan you got a special weapon after beating each boss (which is one thing that has become standard in games nowdays), here Doropie gets her whole arsenal from the very beginning. Also, while in Megaman you could pretty much go though the whole game using your Mega Buster and that alone, in magical Doropie you actually have to use your special weapons as many times there is no possible way you could pass without them (well, at least getting past without losing health). The other major difference, is that Doropie could not only aime her weapon at multiple angles, she could also use a charge shot way before Megaman could (that was only first included in MegaMan 4), in which case the knockoff did manage to inspire the original in a way XD

And lastly, whether or not this game was a knockoff, I'd say it's good enough to give it a try, especially if one like difficult games, cause this was in fact one of the hardest NES games I know, so if you're one of those gamers who seek a good 8-biy challenge, look no further ^^
